Scott led or facilitated more than $150 million in public works throughout his career including:

  • Stateline to Stateline Bikeway

  • Genoa to Walley’s Vista Trail

  • Kahle Park & Community Center

  • Carson Valley Skateboard Facility

  • River park acquisitions (Rocky Bend, Willow Bend, River Bend)

  • WAVE Veterans Monument

  • Shooting Range, Fairgrounds, parks, playgrounds, pickleball courts, and trail systems countywide

Emergency and Public Health Leadership

Logistics Chief, County Emergency Management Team

  • Maintained essential services during COVID-19

  • Coordinated nutrition services, and support for vulnerable residents

  • Served in major disasters over three decades

Legislative and Taxpayer Impact

Negotiated federal land swaps with the U.S. Forest Service

  • Instrumental in Nevada State Question 1 (2002)

  • Helped secure and reauthorize $10M+ in dedicated trail and river funding

  • Amended Nevada laws to reduce liability and protect property owners

  • Saved Douglas County $400,000+ in sales tax through lawful fiscal strategy

  • Work to pass the PALS (parks, airport, library and seniors) advisory ballot question 

  • Efficiently Managed  social services, reducing the property tax rate and shifting that rate to the general fund allowing over $1,000,000 Additional property tax dollars to support public safety and roads in Douglas County 

  • Expertise in budgeting, grant writing, and fundraising, overseeing multi-million-dollar budgets.
